Possibly by the  French Furniture designer Louis Majorelle – 1859 – 1926

A related inlaid tray with brass handles is in the Bethnal Green Museum. London. and illustrated in ART NOVEAU  ‘The Colour Library of Art’ by Martin Battersby published by Hamlyn 1969. plate XI.most of his life in Paris working as a sculptor and bookbinder and was a valuable link between 

The designs for marquetry on furniture by  Majorelle and Galle were often done by Victor Prouve (1858 -1943), a friend from childhood of the latter. A close collaborator of Galle and to a lesser extent of  Majorelle.
